Supervision / Consultation for Psychotherapists
I provide supervision of client work by Registered Psychotherapists (or equivalent if outside of Ontario) in relational, psychodynamic and existential modalities. I offer a process-oriented supervision–where we explore your emotional responses to the work–and draw on your experience in your own interpersonal process. We focus on your client work, but we bring in your feelings and experiences to help us understand it more deeply. Sometimes our conversations might span a greater expanse of what we’re doing as therapists and how it is be a therapist.
I work best with therapists who have had a significant group process experience either as part of their training program or independently as an ongoing member of a therapy group. Feel free to inquire with me if you have any questions about this.
I pay close attention to social identities, intersectionality and cultural lenses in the supervision conversation and the therapy work we’re discussing. I feel the importance of naming the emotional harms of social injustice and oppression in therapy work with clients.
I wholeheartedly enjoy professional consultation and I’ve been honoured to have done supervision work for the past seventeen years (since 2008) in my teaching practice at Toronto Institute for Psychotherapy and in my private practice. I love the experience of unfolding and discovering things together and tuning in to what we’re both sensing as we talk about the client work and the dilemmas that so often and easily arise.
I am available online for both individual and small-group consultation.
