Talking helps, talking heals.
There are many ways in which talking helps: psychological/emotional, neurobiological and interpersonal primarily among them. Saying everything in a safe and confidential space and putting life's experiences into words has proven to be personally transformative for vast numbers of clients and patients in the history of the 'talking cure' profession. Talking, forming narratives, sharing with another, feeling your feelings while you tell the story, bringing things to consciousness, gaining insight as you speak all transport you from old constraints of the past to new possibilities of the here-and-now and the future.
Being in relationship with a therapist who helps you to sort through it all, can lead you to make much better sense of things, to find acceptance or release, and to realize change and progression. It can allow you the opportunity to find deep understanding of yourself and the life you are living. Finding the right fit - an intuitive sense of connection to a therapist and their approach - is a core component of a good therapy. The relationship between client and therapist is instrumental in experiencing meaningful personal process, expanding awareness and growth.
In the accompanying pages and links, I aim to outline for you the Relational approach to psychotherapy that I practice and the services I offer. I also hope to provide you with an idea of the primary areas of interest and focus I integrate into my worldview as a therapist and in my practice with my clients. I believe that this can provide you with a sense of whether I may be a good fit with your needs.
In contacting me to initiate a consultation session, I can assure you of my respect and care for your confidentiality and personal autonomy. When the time is right for you, I welcome your contact.
